Last minute gift ideas for a burlesque performer
I recently reposted an older blog about buying gifts in the holiday season for a burlesque performer. But I know for a lot of us this period is fast approaching - so what about those last minute gift ideas?? I’m talking that panic two or three days before gift giving kicks in and you think “crap, what do I buy this person”.
I said in my last piece, that I truly think it is the thought that counts. If you are in that last minute panic, just stop and remember that you don’t need to blow thousands to show that you are supporting your burlesque babe and are thinking of them.
You could definitely do an experience - maybe make some burlesque treats and/or pick up some cheesy lollies. You could set up a bunch of burlesque themed movies or documentaries or live stream a show. Totally a fun night in and won’t cost a fortune.
One of the best things about COVID has been that so many internationally renown performers have streaming platforms and classes. You could sign up to learn or access tutorials from Ginger Valentine, Michelle L’amour - what an amazing gift! Learn from someone that usually is totally outside of your realm. Or even check out online classes from schools that your burlesque love wouldn’t normally attend.
You could also do something charitable - do a donation to the Burlesque Hall of Fame in the performers name!
Into something more tangible? Left it all to the last minute? Definitely think about picking up a gift voucher. It could be somewhere generic like Etsy (there are so many local and independent sellers that make amazing items any performer would love!). But equally, I reckon most performers worth their salt would love a voucher for amazing lingerie - either costume worthy or just for themselves. I love Playful Promises, Hopeless Lingerie and Kiss Me Deadly for their selection and size inclusivity. Or if you know they are really looking to up their professionalism - why not try a voucher for a dance store? Let them invest in some dance heels, quality tights or warm up gear.
Hope this helps?!!
