Your one stop shop for great burlesque music
Pssst…..
Did you know that I have a great burlesque playlist curated for you?
Songs of burlesque can be super varied. It’s a raunchy, seductive performance style - but definitely with a rowdy and comedic twist at times.
I love using different songs in my warmups, practice work - right through to performance routines.
The songs are a mix of ‘classic burlesque’ tracks that you would have heard around the traps in the yesteryear period; songs that we know performers used to definitely fight over using (see Harlem Nocturne).
But burlesque has, and will always, be a little bit comedic and fun. Even in its hey day, burlesque songs were often parodies of modern day tracks - sometimes adjusted to be a little cheekier.
Now we see a lot of modern bands remixing pop songs to sound like a bygone era or to have a jazz twinge.
And there’s also nothing wrong with just dancing to stuff that uplifts you and makes you feel powerful.
I really vary up the style of music I use in all my classes and workshops. And to make life easier for my students, I keep all of these in one “Banging Burlesque Tunes” playlist on Spotify.
But did you know that I keep this public so that you can have a one stop burlesque tunes stop in your life?
Great if you are stuck for inspiration. Or maybe you are having a burlesque themed function or hens party and you need a killer soundrack.
Plus my students - who are way cooler and more in touch than me - often suggest their favourites and add them to this list.
