The Jessy G takeover
The final in my series of ‘getting to know’ your Miss Burlesque Tasmania finalists. I finished off with Jessy G - one of our two finalists from the North West Coast of Tasmania.
Many of you would know Jessy from the recent Burlesque Idol final - where she took home the crown and had the opportunity to head to the national final.
Like Vermillion Rose, I was less familiar with how Jessy got started in burlesuqe and what drew her in. Jessy explained
I did a workshop at our local performing arts studio, fell in love with the glamour and the confidance of loving my body and how it moves... And being cheeky on stage! .
That was about six years ago, and Jessy said she has seen a big change in her performance style since then
I have learnt a few more skill with my dancing, ie fan routines and when I first started I didn't peel down far being self conscious but my body confidence have definitely grown alot since I started 6 years ago.
Like some of the other finalists, Jessy chose to enter both Burlesque Idol and Miss Burlesque Australia. She shared what drew her to the event
I love being with all the other performers, I want to earn more experiance being on stage and love supporting such a great and encouraging competition.
I’m looking to get more experiance on stage, getting a bit more exposure as a performer and building stronger friendships with all the others involved.
Prep has been a bit slow with Burlesque Idol’s Grand Final - but now I feel like I’m getting into full swing.
You can follow Jessy G on social media here
And don’t forget to come and cheer her and the other finalists on in the Miss Burlesque Tasmania final.
